The last two months has really proved that we have two indispen-sable people: Welcome back, Gordon and Viola, we adore you two! And we are so grateful to have the both of you.
My charity, “Faith In Action”, (AKA The HUB), is grateful that we can help with some of their overhead costs and Senior meals. The prof-its from the Madam Presidents din-ner, held the first Friday of each month, will go to The HUB. We appreciate everybody that has supported us, and especially the “Grapeview Group”.
Of course, along with the rain and leaves falling, October will greet us with Ghosts and Goblins. The Club will have a Halloween Costume Party on October 28, with cash prizes for the top three best cos-tumes. A band called “THE DRIVE” will perform from 7PM to 11PM for your dancing and enter-tainment pleasure. The Auxiliary will prepare finger food snacks for sale.
That is only the beginning of our joyous start of our holiday season! Soon to come is the annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner on November 23 from Noon to 3:30PM. There will be the traditional dinner and all the fixings. Members are free, guests are $3.00. Members are welcome to bring a dessert. The Club will close promptly at 5PM.
Planning will start for our annual VIP Families Drive, watch for more information and sign-up sheet. The VIP tree will go up soon after Thanksgiving. Your help and support is much appreciated.
We will once again have the annual Christmas Party for the children. It will be on December 9, only 60 days away, (my how time flies then we have sun!) Volunteers are needed to help shop for the children’s presents, gift wrappers, equipped with scissors, paper, scotch tape and name tags. Also a party hostess – loaded with ideas and patience and snacks, hopefully sugarless if you know what I mean! I have Mr. and Mrs. Claus attending, YAY. There is more information at The Club as well as a sign-up sheet at the bar.
Our Auxiliary officers have also been blessed with Molly Boyle, rotating for our sick and vacationing officers. Thank you, Molly. Feel free to return.
I hope you have a chance to enjoy the “HawkDogs” during our Seahawks Sunday 1PM games. I know for a fact that the beer is much cheaper (and just as good, with good company) at the Eagles.
